Status and ecology:
A resident species that usually occurs singly in a wide range of habitats, with a preference for situations within seven miles of the coast. Very thinly distributed and almost missing from the north-west of the county; distinctly episodic in appearance throughout. A single brooded species flying from mid August to mid/late October. The larvae feed on (the seeds of) wych elm. (Pratt, 2011)
