Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

Resident. Occurs singly at light, in a wide range of habitats in both vice-counties. Normal single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of June to early August, A partial second emergence occasionally takes place in September. Larvae feed on sloe, hawthorn and on the leaves of apple and pear in gardens. (Pratt, 2011).
