Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident that occurs singly in a very few places across the county but are sometimes common at Newhaven. It is single-brooded, flying mainly from early May to mid August. The larvae feed on the seed-heads and pith in the upper stems of teasel. (Pratt, 2011).
