Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident that generally occurs singly at mv light, occasionally sparingly, in a few places across the county. It is single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of July to late August, sometimes from mid June. The larvae feed in the shoots of birch, hazel and sallow. (Pratt, 2011).
