Status and ecology:

National Status: Migrant

This species is believed to be an episodic immigrant from the continent, although it also breeds in Kent. The first Sussex example, a pair, came to mv light in Rye Harbour on 28th June 2000. Further specimens were trapped in the same area Lime Kiln Cottage and Winchelsea Beach in 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2007. The only other sighting was at Peacehaven on 21st July 2004. (Pratt, 2011).
