Status and ecology:

National Status: Nationally Scarce B

Resident. Generally scarce but it sometimes occurs sparingly at mv light in woods and on heathland. Distinctly episodic in appearance, with distribution being restricted to the far east and far west of the county. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late June to late July. Larvae have not been discovered in Great Britain, although the foodplant is Norway spruce on the continent. (Pratt, 2011).
