Status and ecology:

National Status: Nationally Scarce B

Resident. Generally occurs singly, occasionally sparingly, chiefly on the downs. Thinly distributed in the south of the county, and currently almost completely missing from the north. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early June to early August, occasionally from late May. The larval foodplant is not known in this country. (Pratt, 2011).
