Status and ecology:

National Status: pRDB3

This proposed Red Data Book Class 3 moth is an inhabitant of " flat sandy ground behind coastal sandhills" and may be a scarce and very local resident in Sussex. A single specimen of lineana came to an mv light situated in Green Lane at Houghton Green (Rye) on August 15th 1965, the site being situated three miles inland from the sand-dunes at Camber. No other local records are known. (Pratt, 2011).
