Status and ecology:

National Status: Local

There have been just six colonies of this species located. In the East at Fairlight (1890) then after more than a century had passed it was found at Gills Lap on the Ashdown Forest (2004) and close to Northiam (2010). In the West it was found at Shillings Park (1913), Hawkhurst Court (Wisborough Green )(1973) and finally on Lodsworth Common (1998). In other counties larvae feed on sallow catkins and then the fallen leaves. (Pratt, 2011)
