Status and ecology:

National Status: Local

A resident species in serious danger of extinction in the West and presumed extinct in the East since last recorded in 1888. The only recent record since Victorian times was a single vacated mine in Stansted Forest (2001). Single-brooded, flying mainly during May. Larvae feed on dogwood. (Pratt, 2011)
