Status and ecology:

A resident which usually occurs sparingly but it is sometimes fairly common at mv light in deciduoud woods. Widespread, but very local in any numbers. Decreasing. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid May to Early August, occasionally from the second week of May. Larvae feed on (silver) Birch, Oak, Sallow, Hazel and Sweet Chestnut. (Pratt, 2011)
