Status and ecology:

A resident species in serious decline which is often fairly common to common at mv light near exposed chalk and on shingle beaches and thinly distributed on the Downs between Eastbourne and Storrington but rare elsewhere. Extremely local in numbers, it is double-brooded, flying mainly from mid-May to mid-July and more numerously from early August to mid-September. Larvae feed on lady's bedstraw, hedge bedstraw and heath bedstraw. (Pratt, 2011)
