Status and ecology:

A resident species, normally occurring singly or sparingly near woods and bushy places, and occasionally fairly common at mv light. Widespread, but very local in numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-April to late May. Larvae feed on wild rose. (Pratt, 2011)
