Status and ecology:

A resident species in decline, generally occurring singly or sparingly at mv light, preferring woodland. Only thinly distributed, very local and distinctly irregular in appearance. Double-brooded, flying from late May to mid-August and from early September to mid-October. Larvae feed on sallow, silver birch and wild strawberry. (Pratt, 2011)
