Status and ecology:

This variable species occurs sparingly or fairly commonly at mv light, and is occasionally common in a wide range of habitats. It is probably generally distributed across the county, although high numbers are seen only in localised areas. It is single-brooded and adults are on the wing from late May until mid August. Larvae can be found feeding on the flowers of cultivated apple and pear, and on the flowers of sloe. (Pratt, 2011)
