Status and ecology:

A resident species which is often a fairly common or even common visitor to mv light in woods. It is probably generally distributed, but is much less frequent along treeless parts of the coast. It is single-brooded, flying mainly from mid May to late Agust. Larval foodplants include sallow, grey willow, and sometimes aspen, hazel and birch. (Pratt, 2011)
