Status and ecology:

A very rare migrant Hawk moth which has only been recorded in five seasons and always near the coast, with unusually more larvae than adults having been recorded. The only confirmed records since 1949 have been of one larvae in August 1994 and an adult in June 2008. (Pratt, 2011)
