Status and ecology:

National Status: Nb

This resident species is often fairly common and occasionally common at mv light along reedy dykes and waterways near the coast between Eastbourne and Camber, and also at Amberley, although it only occurs sparingly elsewhere. Very local in numbers. Well distributed in the south-east but only thinly elsewhere. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to late July, occasionally to early August. Larvae feed on various low-growing plants. (Pratt, 2011)
