Status and ecology:
National Status: Nationally Scarce B
The insect is Nationally Notable and only one Sussex record has been made. It was abundant in an old barn near Sompting in 1905. Larvae feed on dead insects and stored animal and vegetable products inside and fungi outside. (Pratt, 2011)
