Status and ecology:

National Status: Na

Extinct in the west of the county since 1953 and in the east since 1955. Previously native, it usually occurred singly or sparingly but it was occasionally fairly common on the downs. Always very local and distinctly episodic in numbers. Single-brooded flying mainly from the second week in June to early July. Larval foodplant is bladder campion. (Pratt, 2011)
