Status and ecology:

Resident, generally occuring singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats but sometimes common to fairly common at mv light on heathland. Widespread but very local and in decline. Single-brooded flying mainly from the second week of May to mid August. Larvae feed on honeysuckle, sallow, hawthorn, broom, apple and many unidentified low-growing plants. (Pratt, 2011)
