Status and ecology:

National Status: RDB2

Presumed extinct as a breeding species in the east since the late 1950's. Never present in the west. A few recent records in the extreme east presumed vagrants from the colony at Dungeness, Kent. Single-brooded, flying mainly during June and July. Larvae fed on Nottingham catchfly. (Pratt, 2011)
