Status and ecology:

A resident species, generally occurring singly or sparingly, but sometimes fairly common at mv light in a wide range of habitats. Common inside poplar plantations. Widespread but absent from the north-west and very local and distinctly episodic in numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early March to late April. Larvae feed on black poplar while adults are also associated with its hybrids. (Pratt, 2011)
