Status and ecology:

Resident. Occurs sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats. Very local and irregular in numbers. Well distributed apart from the downs and coast between Worthing and Norman’s Bay. Single-brooded, flying mainly from third week of September to third week of November, and after hibernation from second week February to early May. Larvae feed on oak. (Pratt, 2011)
