Status and ecology:

Resident. Generally occurs singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, although it is often fairly common and occasionally common in a few domestic gardens. Very local in numbers. Well distributed, but scare in the far east. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid September to late October, occasionally from late August or to the second week of November. Larvae feed on dock, columbine, garden mint and foxglove. (Pratt, 2011)
