Status and ecology:

A resident species, generally occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but often fairly common to occasionally very common on sugar in woods. Well and probably generally distributed but high numbers are local and distinctly episodic. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-July to late September. Larvae feed on a variety of trees and shrubs, including honeysuckle and apple. (Pratt, 2011)
