A resident species, often occurring singly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but often fairly common to occasionally very common on sugar in woods. Well and probably generally distributed but high numbers are local and very irregular. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-July to late September. Larval foodplants have not been recorded in the county although oak, lime and sallow are listed elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
