Status and ecology:

A resident species, normally occurring singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats but sometimes fairly common to common on sugar in woods. Only occasionally seen at mv or actinic light. Very local and irregular in numbers, widespread and probably under-recorded. Single-brooded, flying mainly from early July to mid-September. Larvae feed on ivy. (Pratt, 2011)
