Status and ecology:

National Status: RDB1

Listed as Nationally Endangered in the Red Data Book. Resident. Often fairly common to common at rest amongst stands of foodplant situated in the marshy saline meadows near Rye; never detected in West Sussex. Extremely local. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late August to late September, sometimes from mid August or to the second week of October. Larvae feed on the roots of marsh mallow. (Pratt, 2011)
