Status and ecology:

A resident species usually occurring sparingly or fairly commonly in a wide range of habitats. Sometimes very common at mv light in grassy places. Generally distributed throughout the county. Single-brooded flying mainly from early May to early July. The larvae foodplant has not been determined in Sussex but greater plantain, common knapweed and dwarf thistle have been listed from elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
