Status and ecology:
National Status: Common
A resident species, probably occurring singly or sparingly by day and at mv light near a few deciduous woods. Double-brooded, flying mainly from mid-July to mid-November, and then reappearing in noticeably smaller numbers after hibernation when they are present in spring up to mid-May. Larvae feed on alder. (Pratt, 2011)
