Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species, adults occurring singly, occasionally sparingly at mv light in deciduous woods. Larvae are sometimes much more numerous than the resultant adults. Thinly distributed. Double-brooded, flying mainly from early July to late August and again from mid-September to late October, re-emerging in the spring. Larvae feed on sallows, willows and poplars. (Pratt, 2011)
