Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species occurring singly at mv light in a very few wet habitats in both vice-counties; in danger of extinction in West Sussex. Single-brooded, flying mainly from the second week of June to the third week of July. Larvae feed inside the catkins and buds of sallow. (Pratt, 2011).
