Status and ecology:

National Status: Nationally Scarce B

A resident species, In the West larvae generally occur sparingly, occasionally common in a few deciduous woods. Presumed extinct in the East. Single-brooded, flying mainly during May and June. Larvae feed on hazel, downy birch and silver birch. (Pratt, 2011)
