Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

Resident. Generally distributed in small numbers although occasionally common, both indoors and at mv light. Continuously brooded, being seen mainly from late March to late September although it has been recorded in almost every week of the year. Larvae feed on almost any kind of dry vegetable refuse (Pratt, 2011).
