Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A common, widespread and increasing resident in a wide variety of habitats, first found in the county as recently as 1974. Mainly single-brooded, flying mainly from early June to late August. Larvae have been found feeding on Scots pine. (Pratt, 2011)
