Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

Resident. Usually occurs singly or sparingly to mv light, although occasionally fairly common in both vice-counties. Single-brooded flying mainly from the second week of May to the third week of June, sometimes from late April to third week July. Larvae feed on silver birch, buckthorn, hazel and sweet chestnut. (Pratt, 2011).
