Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species usually occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, although it is occasionally common in woods. Widespread. This species is apparently single-brooded flying mainly from mid July to late September, occasionally from late June or to late October. Larvae feed on unspecified mosses. (Pratt, 2011).
