Status and ecology:

National Status: Nationally Scarce B

A resident species, usually occurring singly, but sometimes fairly common at mv light in Westdean Woods. Distribution is chiefly confined to the south-western corner and to the east coast from Bexhill to Rye. Very local and distinctly episodic in appearance. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-June to early August. Larvae feed on hedge woundwort. (Pratt, 2011).
