Status and ecology:

National Status: Local

A resident species generally occurring singly or sparingly by day in a very few places in the East; in danger of extinction in the West where until a sighting at Woolbeding Common in 2011 it was last detected in 1981. Probably seriously under-recorded. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late April to late May. Larvae feed on oak(Pratt, 2011)
