1962 Barred Red, Hylaea fasciaria (Linnaeus, 1758)

Status and ecology:

Resident species, in decline, normally occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but sometimes fairly common to common on heathland. Widespread but missing from central parts. Usually occurs as a single brood from mid-June to early August, but recently a partial second emergence in September and October. Larval foodplant not locally recorded but Scots Pine listed elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
