2013 Plumed Prominent, Ptilophora plumigera ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Status and ecology:

National Status: Na

Resident in West Sussex but never unquestionably detected in the East. Occurs sparingly but sometimes fairly common to common. Extremely local, all known colonies are in deciduous woodland on the northern slopes of the downs between Duncton and North Stoke. Single Brooded, flying throughout November but occasionally from late October to early December. Foodplant not recorded in Sussex but field maple elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
