2035 Round-winged Muslin, Thumatha senex (Hübner, 1808)

Status and ecology:

Resident. Usually occurs singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats, but is sometimes fairly common to common at mv light in its leading reed-bed localities. Only thinly distributed, and very local in numbers. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late June to mid August, occasionally from the second week of June or to early September. Larvae feed on unidentified “fungoid growths at the very bottom of the oldest reeds” situated in reed-beds. (Pratt, 2011)
