2047 Scarce Footman, Eilema complana (Linnaeus, 1758)

Status and ecology:

A resident species which occurs sparingly or fairly commonly at mv light in a wide range of habitats, but it is sometimes common on heaths and in woods. Well distributed, perhaps generally so, but high numbers are local and irregular. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late June to late August, sometimes from the second week of June and occasionally to late September. The larval foodplants are unspecified lichens (not noted in Sussex). (Pratt, 2011)
