2050 Common Footman, Eilema lurideola (Zincken, 1817)

Status and ecology:

A resident species which is often fairly common to common at mv light in woods, it sometimes being very common at Walberton. Generally distributed in large areas, perhaps throughout, but high numbers are local. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid June to mid August, occasionally from the second week of June or to early September. The larval foodplants have not been recorded in Sussex but unspecified lichens growing on trees, fences and rocks, have been recorded elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
