2104 Northern Rustic, Standfussiana lucernea (Linnaeus, 1758)

Status and ecology:

A resident species in East Sussex, but in danger of extinction; never detected in West Sussex. This species occurs singly or sparingly at mv light along chalk cliffs and associated scree at Eastbourne. It is extremely local. Single brooded flying mainly from mid July to mid August. Larval foodplants have not been determined in Sussex, but unspecified grasses and herbaceous plants have been listed elsewhere. (Pratt, 2011)
