2132 Neglected Rustic, Xestia castanea (Esper, 1798)

Status and ecology:

A resident species normally occuring singly at mv light, but it is sometimes fairly common on heathland. Now restricted to the far west of the county and to the Ashdown Forest area. Single-brooded flying mainly from mid August to late September. Larval foodplant has been recorded as heather. (Pratt, 2011)
