2164 Broad-barred White, Hecatera bicolorata (Hufnagel, 1766)

Status and ecology:

Resident occuring singly or sparingly in a wide range of habitats, preferring the downs and vegetated shingle beaches. Thinly distributed and perhaps disappearing from parts of the north of the county. Very local and in decline. Single-brooded flying mainly from late May to mid August. Larvae feed on hawkweed and hawk's-beard. (Pratt, 2011)
