2397 Small Yellow Underwing, Panemeria tenebrata (Scopoli, 1763)

Status and ecology:

A resident species normally occurring singly or sparingly but occasionally fairly commonly by day and at mv light on the downs, on roadside verges and railway-banks, and on grassy embankments in woods. Missing from large areas of the county. Single-brooded flying from second week of May to the third week of June. The larval foodplant is unknown in Sussex. (Pratt, 2011)
