Status and ecology:

National Status: Nationally Scarce A

It has been pointed out that T. pellionella was formally not distinguishable from T. dubiella so many records were relegated to the unconfirmed category.There has only been one confirmed Sussex record when larvae were discovered on an animal skin rug in Midhurst, and adults were bred out which emerged during the following late June and July. (Pratt, 2011)
